Is Nightshade going to poison Midjourney and the other image diffusion models?

Nightshade provides artists with a method to protect their artwork from unauthorized use by AI models. Artists can submit their artwork to Nightshade, where the tool subtly "poisons" the image. This involves making imperceptible changes that disrupt the AI learning process without compromising the visual appeal of the artwork.

The "poisoned" version of the image, while visually akin to the original, not only prevents the model from effectively learning or replicating the artwork's unique style or patterns but also, if a significant number of Nightshaded images are ingested, could corrupt the entire model.

Could this mark the end of Midjourney's era of dominance?
Alternative tools like Adobe Firefly or BRIA AI, which are trained solely on licensed images, are becoming increasingly appealing.
(But I still created the image for the post in Midjourney..)
